Minecraft Let's Play idea - going through historic versions

by tangent » Mon Apr 07, 2025 2:48 pm

I had this idea to start a Minecraft series where I start with the oldest version (oldest major version, I want to use bug fixes of course) my client can download, and then when hitting certain milestones or after a certain amount of time, I upgrade to the next major version.

I really need ideas for goals and such. I keep starting Minecraft series and never finishing them. This is that again, but I'm hoping this time to make it an ever-world. I've tried doing the ever-world idea before as well, but ran into problems with corruption. I also tried it with mods, which was kind of a mistake.

I'm hoping that by sticking to vanilla and slowly upgrading the world over time, I can recapture some of the nostalgia I have for Minecraft, and avoid the fomo of not having cool mods or future features. Be chill about it, ya know?

Also I'm going to edit forum permissions to allow guests to post here for now because I just started this forum and should do something to make it more approachable tbh.
