From NaNoWriMo shut down after AI, content moderation scandals (TechCrunch).Amanda Silberling for TechCrunch wrote:a NaNoWriMo spokesperson, Kilby, stated in a YouTube video. “Too many members of a very large, very engaged community let themselves believe the service to be provided was free.”
Well that's fucking stupid. It's a community, a non-profit, it's supposed to be free. Yea, funding is needed sometimes for hosting, events, etc.. but it should always have been free. To say otherwise is batshit.
I am definitely not going to take over or even be a big part of that community, but I want to support it in any small way I can.. so I should probably try to do some crazy fast writing here. I mean, again, part of the reason for making this forum was to publish unfinished work and get feedback.
But also a month is just too fast for me. I've tried it a few times before. I was young and stupid and lied about finishing it because I was too embarassed about failing. I don't want to do that again.
